Sustainable Cotton Production in Pakistan Cotton Ginning(SPRING)

Sustainable Cotton Production in Pakistan’s Cotton Ginning SMEs (SPRING) is a European Union funded project under the umbrella of SWITCH Asia. This project was executed by WWF Pakistan and WWF UK. This project was working in cotton ginning sector of Pakistan to promote energy and resource efficiency technologies and providing enabling environment for the SMEs in the areas of resource efficient technologies, financial institutes, policy makers and industrial associations.

Major activities included

Conducted energy and environmental audits of 45 ginning mills of Pakistan

Prepared business cases of resource efficiency for ginning mills

Prepared Better Ginning Practices (BGPs) manual for ginning sector of Pakistan
